The fifth graders had a great time today observing the eclipse. Students observed the sun at three different points- before, during, and after the eclipse. They recorded information about what they saw, heard, and felt during each viewing on a data table. Then, students shared their observations with their peers.
"My favorite part was looking at the eclipse. It looked like a cookie that someone had eaten." - Erika
"At first, when we came outside I saw a little light from the sun. Then, it started getting more light." -Oumar
"The temperature got colder when the sun was hidden by the moon." -Nasi
"Something I noticed was that the sun was being covered up and it looked like a banana. The sun was turning red and then yellow." - Tristan
